The Shimmering Beauty of Dichroic Glass Jewelry

Dichroic means two colors, and this glass appears to be different colors when viewed from different angles and in different light.  Dichroic glass is created by adding a thin layer of metallic oxides to glass at extremely high temperatures.  The metallic oxides transmit and reflect certain light wavelengths causing an iridescent effect.
